Christmas Delivery Times

Order before Monday 20th December to receive your gifts in time for Christmas. If you are rural or in the South Island, we recommend ordering before Friday 17th December for guaranteed delivery.


Standard Delivery Times

Delivery within 2 working days to most New Zealand destinations for orders with payment received before midday (NZST) on weekdays, excluding public holidays. Rural deliveries can take up to 2 working days longer. Please note, all delivery times are approximate.

Please note: If all of your items are not available in one location, you order may be split into separate shipments. This will be noted on any dispatch notifications you receive.

We send our online orders via an overnight CourierPost service which requires signature upon receipt. Max is not responsible for the loss of parcels if the customer has created an Authority to Leave at the address which an order is delivered to. Please ensure your address details are correct as Max takes no responsibility for deliveries which are made to addresses entered in error.

Please note: We do not ship to PO Boxes as we require the signature of the recipient.

FREE on orders $99 and over to all destinations in New Zealand. Orders under $99 have a NZD$7.50 non-refundable delivery charge. For International delivery details and rates please see below.

  • When reordering an item from a return, full postage rates apply to return the item and for the reordered style.

Click & Collect

Click anywhere, collect anytime

Click & Collect allows you the ability to reserve items, ready and wrapped for purchase or set aside for you to try on instore. Simply select Click & Collect as your preferred delivery option during checkout and your items will ready for you in as quick as 3 hours, otherwise it will be 2-6 days if the store needs to order it in. Click & Collect orders which are paid for instore, must be returned to one of our stores and cannot be returned to our distribution centre.


Online Returns

Max is committed to providing quality products to our customers. If your garment does not fit or you have changed your mind, you can return it to us in original condition with all labels and swing tags still attached within 4 weeks of receipt. We will exchange or refund* the purchase price using the method in which you originally paid. If you order was purchased using a giftcard, the return value will be refunded back to the original giftcard, so please retain the giftcard in order to redeem again. Max does not offer refunds on store purchases.

If you receive a faulty or incorrect garment please contact our Max Customer Care Team by emailing or call us free in New Zealand on 0800 MAXSHOP (0800 629 746). Please include your details and the style number of the item and we will arrange free return delivery and an exchange or refund. Should a fault appear after a garment has been worn, it would be appreciated if you could launder it prior to returning it to us.

*What can be returned for an exchange or refund

Full priced items can be returned for an exchange or a refund. Sale items can be returned for an exchange but cannot be refunded. Outlet items cannot be returned for an exchange or refund, they are final sale only.

Returned swimwear items must be in new, unworn condition, with all the garment tags, and where applicable hygiene stickers still attached.
Face masks, jewellery, health and beauty items (skincare, essential oils etc) and food cannot be returned unless faulty.

Please note: Items marked Outlet - Final Sale are not eligible for return unless faulty.

How to Return

You can return items by post or to a Max store (excluding Outlet stores) within 4 weeks of receipt of order. The items must be in original condition with all labels and swing tags still attached. Max has the right to refuse returns if the product is not in its original condition or is returned outside the 4 week period. Refunds can only be given to items returned by post to the online distribution center. Credit notes will be issued for returns instore and can only be used instore.

Please include a completed returns form and place pre-printed sticker on the front of the parcel - if you are within New Zealand do not include postage.

All New Zealand orders will include a free-post returns sticker should you require to return your order. Please affix this sticker on the bag you received your original order in. Please include your completed returns form and garments inside the bag. Any other postage charges on returns are not refundable.

International customers must pay for all postage of returns.

Returning Online Purchases to Store

Online orders can be exchanged instore, however, Afterpay order will been to be sent back to Maxshop for exchange or refunds.

Instore Returns

You are welcome to return any unwanted full price items within 10 days from the date of purchase, with tags attached and original receipt for a store credit or exchange. Max does not offer refunds on store purchases. Sale goods may be exchanged within 10 days from purchase with tags attached and original receipt. Faulty items can be returned to store for a repair, replacement or a refund in the instance that the garment cannot be repaired or replaced first. All faulty items will be assessed on return to find a suitable outcome.

Please note: You cannot return instore purchases to our distribution centre for a refund.

Important information

  • Returned items are insured by Max against damage or loss with proof of correct postage.
  • Max takes no responsibility for items lost in transit while being returned without proof of postage.
  • If the information above is not followed this may result in delays processing your return. If followed correctly, items will be processed within 10 working days.
